29 John died on the 18 Nov 1805 age 74. Grave situated at
the front of Chapel church next to the railings. John's Will proved in 10th April 1806 at Lichfield. States his ancestors leased the farm and land for 999years being situated at Sittinglow in the parish of Chapel en le Frith. He banqueted the farm to his 3 named sons: Philip, William & Henry to be joint tenants, condition being that Henry had the option of buying the two brothers out. Son John was given �30, Son James �30, Daughter Betty �30, , Son Ephraim �30, daughters Mary �30, Sarah �30, and son Samuel �30. Then the children are mention in a list in order as: John, James, Betty, Ephraim, Mary, Sarah, Samuel, & Henry. Philip isn't mentioned this being in relation to �30 gifts only. John's brother in law Robert Cottrill of Dove Holes being solo executor. Witnesses : John Taylor (land surveyor) , Gilbert Bennett (solicitor) & Jsaac Matty -unclear on the spelling. Sittinglow. Married a Martha Hadfield in Peak Forest in November 1798.
Later married his late cousins wife on the farm next door being Halsteads. h.4.2 James Marchington.1774 Sittinglow. Married Charity Potts on the 7 Nov 1803. James & Charity move to Gorton Manchester. Probable that James was named after James Clegg the Chinley Chapel minister. h.4.3 Philip

county. Philip possibly remained on Sittinglow farming less land has his brother
may have taken parcels of land to make a new farm operating from Warmbrook House
in the Townend of Chapel. Philip ended up leasing the farm to his farm
labourer and retiring not far from his brother Henry at Townend. 1841
census.

In 1851 Philip and his wife are retired living at Townend in Chapel also Philips brother Henry is also stated as retired living at Townend with his son John. Have they leased the Sittinglow farm out as its not featured with a Marchington occupant. Will have to re-look at the farm in the census to resolve this issue. h.4.3.2 Philip Marchington. 1818. Sittinglow. Henry married Jane Lloyd in 1816. They are farming at Townend near Warmbrook barn, near Lower Eaves farm. h.4.4. William Marchington.1783. Sittinglow. Married a Hannah. William died on the 24 Dec 1830 age 47 Hannah died on the 24 May 1860 age 80. Both buried in Chapel church at the front next to the railings. 1791. Sittinglow. Married an Elizabeth Hallworth in the Stockport area
on the 25 March 1816. IGI 6934203 being a Cordwainer by trade. They travelled the
short distance to Haughton Green in the Denton area having the following
children.. Samuel is featured in a Trade Directory for Denton, Droylesden &
Gorton of 1832 as a Shoe Maker of Haughton Green, Denton.
