Compstall. Cheshire

John Marchington.1788. married a Betty where unknown as yet and at what time unknown as yet. It looks like they were living at Natholes which is not on the modern OS map but could have been near Bugsworth(Buxworth) possibly now called GOWHOLE. They later moved to Mellor area having children baptised there and then on to Compstall down the road or they could have been living in Compstall and worshiping at Mellor the distance is not that great.

So it looks like they traveled a short distance residing at  Natholes/Bugsworth Cotton spinning, then on to Mellor Cotton spinning again then finally into Compstall bridge Cotton spinning. It may be that the local cotton mills were offering better wages hence the moves Johns occupation is not in keeping with the local Marchington of Chapel in that they are all farmers of some sort. Charlesworth is given as a place of birth for John in the census of 1861 as such he could have got his spinning skills in working in a local mill in Charlesworth or possibly in Broadbottom next to Charlesworth over the boarder into Cheshire.

There was some connections with Broadbottom with a pocket of Marchington's who came from Tideswell and were working in the Cotton industry   LINK  It may be that there is a connection there?
