Note: Census records all UK census are taken every ten years in the first year of a decade : 1841, 1851 etc. All USA census are taken on start of the decade being; 1850, 1860 etc.

h4.6.Samuel Marchington.1791. born at Sittinglow farm, Chapel en le Frith. father of : -

h4.6.2. Phillip Marchington. b1825. Denton, Lancs.  Married a Miss Mary Ann Dickson what date unsure as there is no Phillip event that matches, but the place would have been Manchester area . Phillip & his family Emigrated to the USA. He arrived in New York on the 20th May 1850 from  Liverpool on the ship Western World. (Family ID. 3379353 Film No. M237-88) His trade is stated as a Shoemaker. (Phillips father Samuel was a Shoemaker). There are no other names on the passage list which are familiar too me, as such it would seem he traveled alone. Phillip's wife Mary Ann and their son Samuel arrived in New York 2 years later on the  3rd May 1852. Their stated ages are 26 & 3 respectively. They arrive also on the Ship New World from Liverpool. (Film No. M237_112). Obviously like many others Phillip went out to America and established himself before his wife and child arrived.

Allegedly Phillip serviced in the American Civil War, 1861-1865. (there was a another Philip who served may be a mix-up or both did ). However there is no death as yet for Philip and I cant find him in the 1870 census so he may have been a fatality in the Civil War..

Samuel shows up in the 1910 census as living with his wife next door to his son Clarence.

Samuel died on the 26th April 1922 in Idaho Springs, Colorado. Elizabeth died on the 16 Aug 1961.

Lawrence died on the 18th April 1876, buried in Georgetown.

h.4.6.2.1.2 Clarence Marchington. 1875. Georgetown, Colorado. Married Erma Jane White (b26 Aug1884) on what date?. Clarence served in the First World War, enrolling in Clear creek 1817-1818.

Samuel died on the 30th May 1959. (No further information on Alice Light.) Mable the second wife died on the 15th Feb 1943.

Arthur died on the 27th Oct 1989 in Orange county California.

h.4.6.2.1.2.#Dorothy Thelma Marchington.1906. Colorado Springs. Married Ted Clark Anderson on the 26th June 1926. (b 07Jan1902).   
They had one child called Ted born on the 28Jul1930, who died at birth. Dorothy died on the 04th Feb 1971.

h.4.6.2.1.3 Freddie Marchington.  1877. Georgetown, Colorado.

died in a train accident on the 2nd Dec 1879. He's buried at Empire City Nevada.

h.4.6.2.1.4 Harry Marchington. 1879. Nevada, Colorado.

Harry died on the 23rd Nov 1879 in Nevada.
