Jnr. Thomas Marchington. Married a  Rachael Kinder. (born c1757). The marriage was on the 11th July 1779.
Thomas & Rachael had one daughter called,  Elizabeth. Kinder Marchington, Elizabeth married John Bennett
of  Stodhart on the 8th July 1802. John Bennett was a surgeon and they are mentioned in,   William Braylesford Bunting book on Chapel en le Frith.  page 147. The Eaves estate passed to their Grandson Mr. Samuel Needham. Who's family was still in possession around 1940 according to Bunting's book.

In 1790. John & Grace Marchington of Sittinglow, were living at Eaves. Possibly helping as a farm labourer to Thomas Marchington. Thomas died before Rachael.  Rachael died around 1842.
The 1841 census shows Rachael as being Independent. There is a Margaret  Hastle, age 18 working as a servant.

1841 census -- Lower Eaves Farm.
Rachel Marchington.c1757.      age  84     Independent.  (living by her own means).
Margaret Hastle                           age 18
    Servant

Notes: 1881 census. There is a Hannah Marchington  age 60. stated as farming at   Clough.
George & Ellen Hallam are stated as farming at Higher Eaves estate.

Thomas Marchington as mentioned in Braylesford book page 147. Purchased  Eaves estate in 1798 from the Bradshaws of Marple. One of the Eaves lease hold farms being Lower Eaves  was in the possession of the Marchington family for some 150 years prior to this date, having been sitting tenants. This date ties in with the  John Marchington in 1642 and his son Philip who in turn being the  father of  Henry Marchington b1664.
Thomas died in  1837. Leaving  his large estate to his one and only child, Elizabeth.  Its
interesting to note that you cant place who owns what as families are leasing out a farm and are leasing another farm themselves. Hence the Marchington's were leasing Lower Eaves but owned other Property in the area.

There is no mention of a Needham living at Eaves in the 1881 census, however there are two Samuel Needham's  mentioned as follows:

1881 Census:   Market ST, Chapel En Le Frith, Derby, England.
Samuel Bennett                 Head          55      Warehouseman       Ashton-Under-Lyne

Sarah E. Bennett               Daug          22                                     Manchester
Samuel NEEDHAM         Boarder       35     Annuitant              Chapel-En-Le-Frith,
Charles TIMS                                          4                                     Chapel-En-Le-Frith,

1881 Census:   Chapel En Le Frith, Derby, England   Dwelling: Rushah House

Edward Bennett
    Head          66                                    Chapel-En-Le-Frith,

Physician M.D.St Andrews L.R.C.P.London (Not Practicing).
Ann Bennett
Wife          68                                       Manchester
Esther E. Bennett
Daug         32                                       Guernsey, Channel Islands
Alfred M. Bennett
Son          28         Solicitor                   Isle of Man
Charles P. Bennett
Son        26           Bankers Clerk        Isle of Man
Fanny Bennett                     Daug     23                                        Isle of Man,

It's interesting to note that the first Samuel is residing with a family of Bennett's However  these Bennett's where born outside of Chapel &  their relationship is not mentioned which in this census was a requirement. John Bennett who married Elizabeth Marchington was a Doctor and and Edward Bennett above was also a doctor, there is also one other Bennett being a Charles who is also a Doctor born in Chapel living in Buxton. It is possible that the Bennett's / Needham's owned Eaves farm and leased the farm land out.    Further checks to be made.......
