Note: No March[ing]ton wills proved at Canterbury Court between the years 1393-1574 Except for a reference to a Nicolas Marchinton. There are two Wills which were proven at Canterbury being Philip Marchington, proved in 1610 to his wife Jane & son John.

This is the last will and Testament of me Philip Marchington of Higher Bradshaw Farm in the Township of Mellor in the County of Derby, made the Twelfth day of August in the year of our lord One thousand eight hundred and ninety three (1893) Revoking all other wills made by me. I appoint Arthur Hartle farmer of Eaves Knowl, New Mills in the said County of Derby and John Charles Rowbottom stonemason of Hadfield in the said County of Derby to be my Executives and I direct that my funeral and testamentary Expenses and all my debts shall be settled as soon as conveniently may be after my decease I give and bequeath into my wife Sarah Marchington all the money goods chattels and stock and what-so-ever other property of which I am possessed to us as she seems well divining her life after the decease of my said wife Sarah Marchington. I direct that the estate shall be realised forthwith and the proceeds divided equally between my children Ellen Hartle of Eaves Knowl New Mills, Hannah Rowbottom of Hayfield, John Marchington (my son) Philip Marchington of Chapel Street New Mills, Mary Anfield of Sharton Green, New Mills, William Marchington of Bradshaw Farm, Samuel Marchington of Bradshaw Farm, Sarah Marchington of Bradshaw Farm and Martha Ann Marchington of Bradshaw Farm.

John Marchington of Cross cottages near Doveholes in the Parish of Chapel en le Frith in the County of Derby Yeoman do hereby revoke all wills codicils and other dispositions heretofore made by me and do declare this and do declare this to be my last will and testament. I devise and bequeath all that my leasehold messuage farm lands and hereditaments commonly called the Hallsteads situated lying and being in Bowden Edge in the parish of Chapel en le Frith aforesaid now in the occupation of my Son

Joseph Marchington unto my Son John Marchington his executors administrators and assigns changed and changeable nevertheless with the payment of an annual yearly sum of fifty pounds to my dear wife

Hannah Marchington during her life and also with the payment of the sum of five hundred pounds which I direct to be paid as follows namely two hundred and fifty pounds one moiety thereof to be divided into eight parts as showed and paid within twelve calendar months after my decease as follows namely to my Son Thomas Marchington one part as showed thereof to my son Philip Marchington

Another part as showed thereof to my Son William Marchington another part as showed threof to my Daughter Ann Chadwick wife of John Chadwick of Manchester, Joiner, another part as show thereof to my daughter Elizaberth Fletcher wife of Francis Flectcher of Manchester, Porter, another part as show thereof to my Son Samuel Marchington another part as showed thereof to my Son Joseph Marchington another part as showed thereof and the last part as showed thereof to be equally divided between William Potts and Frances Potts children of my late Daughter Martha Potts and as to the sum of two hundred and fifty pounds the remaining moiety of the said sum of five hundred pounds I direct the sum to be divided and paid within twelve calendar months after the decease of my said wife to my said children and grandchildren in the same proportions and in like manners as is heretofore mentioned with respect to the first mentioned moiety as sum of five hundred and fifty pounds and I direct the said yearly rent charges of fifty pounds to be paid to my said wife or her assigns by equal half yearly payments in every year ( cleared of legacy duty and all dedications whatsoever) the executives and

administrators of such services ( hereafter called the trustees or trustee) do and shall within twelve months next after my decease absolutely sell my said real estate either together or in parcels and either by public auction or private contract and may buy on and resound any contract for sale and will without being responsible for any lots accessioned thereby and execute and do all such sale as they or he shall think fit and shall also sell and convert onto money all such parts of the said personnel estate as shall not consist of money (except the house in which I now reside with the household goods furniture and other effects which may be found in or about the same at my decease the use and occupation of which I direct my said wife shall have and enjoy for her life). And I declare that my said trustees or trustee shall stand and declare that my said trustees or trustee shall stand and be possessed of and interested in the monies to use from my such sale disposition and converting into money of my said residuary real and personal estate as aforesaid upon trust in the first place to pay any funeral and testamentary expenses and debts and from and after payment thereof and of all costs charges of expenses incidental to the execution of the trusts and powers hereby exposed on them upon first to pay and divide the same unto and amongst my said children and grandchildren in the shares and proportions and in the manner and at the time CertEd for payment of the sum of five hundred pounds on as near there to as circumstances will admit and I divide and declare that as soon as conveniently may be after the decease of my said wife my said trustees or trustee and other effects that may be found therein at the decease of my said wife in the manner herein before mentioned and after paying all expenses incidental to such sale or sale upon first to divide the net proceeds of the said Dwellinghouse and premises into eight equal parts as shown and pa one each part as shown to each of my mentioned with respect to the sum of five hundred pounds and as to the surplus arising from the sale of the said household goods and furniture and other effects upon trust to divide the same into nine equal parts as shown and to pay one of each such share to each of my eight children and the ninth part as shown thereof unto my said grandchildren William Potts and Frances Potts and I hereby declare that the sum of one hundred pounds which I have advanced to my said Son, Philip shall be taken in part satisfaction of the share of residue given to him by this my Will and Testament   hereby declare that the receipt of the trustees or trustee hereof for the purchase money of property sold or for any monies funds shown or securities paid or transferred to them or him in perseverance hereof or of any of the trusts hereof shall effectually discharge the purchase or purchases or other the person or persons paying or transferring the same therefrom and from being concerned to see to the application thereof and I declare that the trustees for the time being of this my Will, shall respectively be chargeable only with such monies as they respectfully shall actually receive and shall not be answerable for other person in whose records any of the trust monies shall be pleased nor for the insufficiency or depreciatory of any stocks, funds, shares or securities nor otherwise for involuntary losses and that the said trustees for the time being may reimburse themselves out of the trust premises all expenses incurred in or about the execution of the aforesaid trusts and powers. I devise all the freehold and copyhold hereditaments (?), vested in me upon first or mortgage unto the said John Marchington, Joseph Marchington, and Samuel Marchington ther heirs and assigns subjects to the equity of redemption sedsisting (?), therein respectively but the money secured on such mortgage shall be considered ass part of my personnel estate and I appoint my said Sons John Marchington, Joseph Marchington and Samuel Marchington first half yearly payment or yearly rent charges to be made at the expiration of six calendar months next after my decease and I hereby declare that in case the same annuity or yearly rent charge shall at anytime be in arrears and unpaid in the whole or in part for the space of twenty days next after any of the said days or times hereinbefore appoint for payment therof then and so after as the same shall happen it shall be lawful for my said Wife to enter upon the land charged therewith and to distian (?) for the same and for the costs accessioned by the non-payment thereof in the same manner in all landlords are authorisedby law to do for rents reserved on common lease for years and also that in case the said annuity or yearly rent charges should at any time or times be unpaid either in whole or in part for forty days next after any of the days as time herinbefore appoint for payment thereof then and so often as the same should happen ( although there may not have been any legal demand of the same ) it shall be lawful for any said Wife to enter into and upon and to hold without impeachment of waste such as any part of the said hereditaments (?) hereby charged with the payments of the annuity or rent charge so inarears and to retain each possession and to receive the rents and profits thereof for her own use until she shall hereby or otherwise be fully paid and satisfied the arrears of the said annuity or yearly rent charge due at the time of such entry and all costs and expenses occasioned by the non-payment thereof of the days or times aforesaid and I declare that the provision hereby made for my said wife shall be in Lou of all dowers as thirds which she might be entitled to out of my estate or any part thereof and I devise all the rest residue and remoeindes (?) of my real and personal estates unto my Sons John Marchington, Joseph Marchington and Samuel Marchington their heirs cocecution (?) administration or assigns according to the native & qualities thereof respectively upon trust nevertheless that they the said John Marchington, Joseph Marchington and Samuel Marchington or there heirs executive's of this my Will in witness wherof I the said John Marchington the Testator have to this my Will curtained on four sheets of paper set my hand to the first three sheets and my hand and seal to the forth and last sheet thereof this seventieth day of August one thousand eight hundred and sixty eight. --------

The Testator John Marchington was late of Crofs Cottages, near Doveholes, in the parish of Chapel en le Frith in the county of Derby. Yeoman and died on the 26th day of June 1869, at Cross Cottages aforesaid.

I John Merchinton of Hallstids being sick in body but of good and perfect memory thanks be to God do make this last will and testament in mannes and form following.

And now for me setting of my temporal Estate:  and such good Chataels as it hath please God to bestow upon me I do order give and dispose in manner and form following that( is to say) first I give to my Daughter Ann one shilling    likewise my son Joseph one shilling allso my Daughter Martha the sum of fifty pounds and my Daughter Mary fifty pounds to be paid in Coveniant time after my Decease And all the rest of my goods and Chataels whatsoever I Do give to my son Samuel and make him my full and sole Executor of this my last will and testement in witness whereof I have set too my hand and seal this fifth day 0f March 1781

This is the last Will and Testament of me Henry Marchington

of Townend in Chapel en le Frith in the county of Derby. Gentleman. I give devise and bequeath all my real and personal estate and effects whatsoever and wheresoever unto my Son John Marchington absolutely subject nevertheless to the payment of our seventh part of my just debts funeral and testamentary expenses of also subject to the payment of the sum of twelve pounds to each of my other children both sons and daughters who shall be living at the time of my decease, and the issue of such of them as shall be dead, such issue nevertheless taking only the share which their deceased parent would have been entitled to if living, to and for their own use and benefit nevertheless it is my Will and mind and I hereby direct that it shall be lawful for my executor hereinafter named to deduct from each of the said legacies of twelve pounds such sum as shall amount to one seventh part of my just debts. Funeral and Testamentary expenses and to apply the same in payment thereof the respective legacies to be paid by my said executor / subject to the said deductions / within twelve calendar months after my decease. Lastly. I appoint my said son John Marchington. Executor of this my Will and hereby revoke all other Wills. In Witness whereof I the said Henry Marchington have to this my last Will and testament set my hand this 19 day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty seven. --Henry Marchington.

On the eight day of November 1858 the Will of Henry Marchington late of Townend in the Parish of chapel en le Frith in the County of Derby, Gentleman deceased, was proved by oath of John Marchington the son of the deceased the sole executor named therein having been first Sevorn duty to administer.

This is the last Will and Testament of me

Thomas Marchington of the Eaves in the parish of chapel en le frith in the county of Derby. Gentleman. I Give and devise unto my dear wife Rachael Marchington and to my son in Law John Bennett of Stodhart Lodge in the said parish of Chapel en le frith jurgeou   all my freehold and leasehold messuages lands tenements and Hereditaments whatsoever and wheresoever with their and every of their eight members and appurtenances to hold to them the said Rachael Marchington  and John Bennett their Heirs Executors administrators and assigns  according to the nature and quality of the said estates and effects respectively to the uses upon the trusts and to and several ends intents and purpose hereinafter expiefsed and declared  of and concerning the same ( that is to say ) as to for and concerning all that my freehold messuage tenement or dwellinghouse with the outbuildings closes pieces or parcels of land and all other  the hereditameats  and premises thereunto adjoining or belonging  situate at and called or known by the name of the Eaves aforesaid and now in my own occupation and also all those my several freehold messuages tenements or dwellinhouse with the outbuildings Closes pieces or parcels of land and all other the Hereditaments and premises thereunto  adjoining or belonging situated   at and called or known by the name of the Eaves aforesaid and now in my own occupation and also all those my several freehold messuages tenements or dwelling houses  with the gardens Croft or parcel of land and all other the Heseditaments and premises thereunto adjoining  or belonging situated at  or near SANDY WAY HEAD in the said parish of Chapel en le Frith now in the several occupation of Samuel Oldham and others Upon Trust from and immediately after my decesase to permit and suffer my said wife Racheal Marchington and her assigns to have held and enjoy and to receive and take the rents and profits of my said last abovementioned freehold estates and Heseditaments for and during  the term of her natural life to and for her and their own use and benefit absolutely and from and immediately after her decease Upon further Trust as to my said last abovementioned Freehold  Estates and Heseditaments and the said rents yours profits thereof to and for the sole use and benefit of the said John Bennett and Elizabeth his wife for and during their joint natural lives and the life of the survivors or conges lives of them and from and immediately after the deceased of the survivors of them the said John Bennett and Elizabeth his wife upon further trust as to my said last abovementioned freehold  estate and Heseditaments to and for the sole use and benefit of all and every my Grandchildren the lawful children of the said John Bennett and Elizabeth his wife their prospective heirs and assigns fro ever to be equally divided between or amongst them share and shall alike as tenants in common and not as joint tenants the share and respective share of each of my said  Grandchildren to be and become vested in them him or her respectively as and when shall severally attain the age of twenty one years and the rents yours and profit  of each child respective share in the mean time to be applied in and towards his or her  respective maintenance education and support and in case any are or now of them my said Grandchildren  should die without  leaving lawful heir and before his her or their respective share or shares of my said last abovementioned freehold estate and Heseditaments should be or become vested as aforesaid  them as to the share  or prospective shares of him her or them so dying to the use of the survivors and survivors of them any said Grandchildren their heirs and assigns equally to be divided  between or amongst them if more than one share and share alike as tenants in common and if but one them to and for the sole use and benefit of such one of my said Grandchildren his or her heirs and assigns absolutely and to be and become vested in them his or her respectively at such time as them his or her original shares or shares of the said last abovementioned freehold estate and heseditamnets would become vested as aforesaid but in case any one or more or them my said Grandchildren should die leaving lawful heir then to the said share or shares of him or her or them so dying to and for the use of such heir who shall be entitled equally as tenant  in common to such part of share of the said last abovementioned freehold estate and heseditaments which his her or their deceased parent or parents would  have been entitled to if living on their his her attaining  their  respective ages or age of twenty one years the rents yours and profit of each child respective share in the mean time to be applied in and towards their his or her respective maintenance education and support and as to for and concerning all those my several leasehold messuages tenements or dwelling houses with the outbuildings and

The several  Closes pieces or parcels of land and all these Heseditaments and premises there out  adjoining and belonging situated at or called or know by the name of Sittinglow in the Parish of Chapel en le Frith aforesaid and now in the several occupation of John Bretland, Joseph Needham, Thomas Hallam and John Thornhill and all that my leasehold messuages tenements or dwelling house with the outbuildings the several Closes pieces or parcels of land and all  other the Hereditaments and premises thereunto adjoining and belonging situated at or called or know by the name of Bridgeholme Green in the parish of Glossop in the said County of Derby and now or late in the occupation of Samuel Yates and all other my real and leasehold estate whatsoever and whosesoever and not hereinbefore by me disposed of Upon Trust that they my said Trusties and survivors of them and the heirs Executors or administrators of such survivors do and  shall from and after my decease in the first place by and out of the rents youes and profits of my said leasehold estate at or near Sittinglow aforesaid pay and discharge the intrest of a certain sum of nine hundred pounds due and owing from me to the estate of my late Sister Elizabeth Clulow deceased and subject there to  as well  as to the payment of the said principal  sum of nine hundred pounds with which I do hereby change and make liable my said last mentioned leasehold estate at or called by the name of Sittinglow aforesaid Upon Further Trust as to my leasehold estate at or near Sittinglow and Brideholme Green aforesaid   and all other my said Real and Lease estate whatsoever and whosesoever to and for the sole use and benefit of the said John Bennett and Elizabeth his wife for and during their joint natural lives and the life of their survivors as longer lives of them and from and immediately after the decease of the survivors  of them the said John Bennett and Elizabeth his wife Upon Further Trust to and for the sole purpose use and benefit of all and every my Grandchildren the lawful children of the said John Bennett and Elizabeth his wife their respective Heir

Executors administrators  and assigns  to be equally divided between or amongst them share and share alike as tenants in common and not as joint tenants the share and respective share of each of my grandchildren to be and become vested in them his or hers respectively as and when they shall severally  attain the age of twenty one years and the rents youes and profits of each Childs perspective share in the mean time to be applied in and towards his or her prospective maintenance education and support and in case any one or more of them my said Grandchildren should die without leaving lawful heir and before his her or their respective share or shares of my said last mentioned estate and Heseditments should be or become vested as aforesaid then as to the share or prospective shares of him her or there so dying to the use of the survivors and survivor of their my said Grand children their Heirs Executors administrators and assigns equally to be divided between them if more than one share and share alike as tenants in common and if but one them to and for the sole use and benefit of such are of my said Grand children his or her heirs executors administrators and assign absolutely and to be and become vested in them his or he respectively at such time or times as their his or her original share or share of the said abovementioned  estate and Hereditamnets would become vested as aforesaid but in case any one or more of them my said Grandchildren should so die leaving lawful heirs as to the share or shares of him her or their as dying to and for the care of such heir who shall be entitled equally as tenants in common to such part or share of the said last mentioned estate and Hereditaments which his her or their deceased parent or parents would have been entitled to if living on therein his or her attaining  there respective ages of twenty one years the rents youes and profits of each child respective share in the mean time to be applied in and towards their his her respective maintenance  education and support and I do hereby Give and Bequeath unto my said wife Rachael Marchington and to my said son in law the said John Bennett all and singular my household goods and household furniture books pictures plates linen and china  live and dead farming stock and implements of husbandry goods cattle and chattels ready money and  recruite for money debts due to me at the time of my decease whether  by simple contract or otherwise and all other my personal estate and effects whatsoever and whosesoever and not hereinbefore by me bequeathed or disposed of to hold to them the said Rachael Marchington and John Bennett their Executors and administrator upon trust in the first place to pay thereout all the just debts which I shall owe on my decease ( save and except the said sum of nine hundred pounds so due and owing from me to the estate of my said late sister Elizabeth Clulow deceased and the interest thereof and which I shall hereinbefore directed to be paid as aforesaid ) together with my funeral and testamentary  subject thereto and from and after payment thereof Upon Further Trust to permit and suffer my said wife Rachael Marchington to have hold and enjoy the same for and during the term of her natural life to and for her own use and benefit absolutely and from  immediately after my decease Upon Further Trust for the said John Bennett and Elizabeth his wife them Executors administrators and assigns to and for their and each and every of their  own use and benefit absolutely and I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint my said wife Rachael Marchington and the said John Bennett joint executer and executors of this my last will and testament and I do herby declare that my said trustees and executors and the survivors of them or their heirs executors  administrators of such survivors shall not be charged o chargeable with any more of the said trust  monies and premises than shall prospectively actually receive and that   are of them shall not be answerable or accountable for the other or others of them or for the acts receipt neglects defaults only  nor shall they or either or any of them be answerable or accountable for any misfortune  ?  or damage which may happen to the aforesaid  trust monies and premises in the execution of the aforesaid  trusts or otherwise in relation thereto unless the same shall happen by or thro their or any of their own willful neglect or default respectively and also they my said trustees and executors and the survivors of their and the heirs executors or administrators of such survivors shall and may by and out of the monies which come to their respective hands under or by virtue of the trust of this my Will retain to reimburse herself himself and themselves and allow to her  his and their Co trustee and Co trustees all costs charges and appences which they or either or any of their may respectively sustain expend or be put into in or about the executive of the trust of this Will or in anyway relating thereto and lastly I do hereby revoke all former Wills by me at any time heretofore made  and declare this only to be my last Will and testament In Witness whereof I the said Thomas Marchington the testator have to this my last will and testament contained in form sheets of paper set my hand seal( that is to say) my hand to the three first sheets thereof and my hand and seal to this fourth and last sheet the second day of September in the year of our lord One thousand eight hundred and thirty three.

 THOMAS MARCHINGTON DIED WITHOUT MAKING A WILL

TESTATE

Where as Thomas Marchington of the Eaves in the parish of Chapel en le Frith in the county of Derby Yeoman died on or about the seventeeth of October last  parsh ? intestate leaving Rachael Marchington his Widow and Relict  and two children only, that is to say Thomas Marchington of the Eaves aforesaid Yeoman and Elizabeth the wife of Wilfred Culwen of the Parish of Chapel en le Frith aforesaid Gentleman and whereas the said Rachael Marchington have not done any act matter or thing who too ever in to or concerning the goods and chattels rights and  credits or other the n personnel estate and effects of the said late husband Thomas Marchington deceased intestate or in any intermeddled or concerned himself  thou with or with any part thereof now know all men by these prevents that I the said Rachael Marchington have renounced and relinquished and by these presents do renounce and relinquish all my right and title to the administrator of the goods and Chattles rights and Credits and other the personnel estate and effects of my said late husband Thomas Marchington deceased intestate and I do hereby request and devise that administration of the said goods and Chattles rights and Credits and other the personnel /Estate and effects of my said late husband Thomas Marchington deceased  intestate may be granted to the said Thomas Marchington my son by my said late husband  Thomas Marchington deceased intestate. And I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint William Jackson  and Thomas Buckeridge my  two and lawful proctors and  cattier of them jointly and severally for means in my name to exhibit this my  ???anciation    and previous the  same to be duly admitted and allowed and to do all and  ?????  other acts and things requested and to be done in the premises as full and amply to all intents and purposes  as I myself might do in the premises were I personally prevent and sole hereby ratify  confirm and allow all and whatsoever my said proctors or either of them shall carefully do as cause to be done in the premises by virtue of these present in witness where of  the valid Rachael Marchington have  hereunto set  set my hand and seal this fifteenth day May in the year of are lord one thousand  seven hundred and Eightyone

……..of Gravel  lane in the fields in the county of Surrey being of sound mind etc…..do make this my last will etc…………First I given and bequeath unto THOMAS WRIGHT  of New Stuot noon cough square in the city of London Merchant and JAMES HILL/BILL of Gravel lane aforesaid ????  the sum of £140 Dividends ?????????????????? that the survivor of them ??????from time to time ?????????????????/  for the support and up bringing of Ann Lovett of Wai???ust in the county of Wiltshire the daughter of  Mary Lovett until she reaches the age of 21 or marriage what shall first happen and that the said Thomas Wright & James Hill my said executives and trusties ???? after ???? shall transfer the sum to to the said Ann Lovett for her own sole and separate use but in case the said Ann Lovett should not live to the age of 21  or should not marry a ??? I give the  said sum of one hundred and twenty pounds ??? ??? Cout Cousol Bay? Aunities to JAMES MARCHINGTON of the Kiugdoue of S???ud Cloth Manufacture in case ??? should be ???? living ans ??? my said Trusties and Executive(T&E)   ????? after???/ will as soon as ??????? they transfer the sauce to him and willingly but if the said JAMES MARCHINGTON should depart this life as well as the said Ann Lovett before they attain the age of 21 years or does mot Marry as aforesaid thou my Will and m???ing in that the said one hundred & twenty pounds C/// Cousols bauf Annuities given to the said Ann Lovett shall go to my Nephew Richard Bolia Marchington son of James and Dorothy Marchington. Also I give and bequeath until my said brother James Marchington the sum of sixty pounds sterling but if the said James Marchington should be found not to be living within the space of time of twelve months  after my decease after diligence  and ??? by mr T&E bein first laid or obtained for that particular purpose within the said time ??? and with default of u?g??tr ofhim the said James Marchington remaining under the provision made for him  ????? my will  ???? or such time as aforesaid it is my ???? request and desire my said T&E to take ????? ??????gly that the said James Marchingotn is and may and ?? shall be taken as dead and not as being and for that purpose in office of the above cases the said James Marchington shall is hereby ??? absolutely barred and totally excluded from all ????? of benefit advantage of  ????   whatsoever from and under by virtue of this my last will and testament to the ????ary thereof in any wise ?????standing  ??? ? give the said legacy of sixty pounds sterling to the said Thomas Wright and James Hill  in trust for the said Ann Lovett and to be added to the said one hundred & twenty pounds  stock given to the said Ann Lovett and to be applied in manner above ???hou?d but my will abd ???? is that in case the said Ann Lovett dies before ??? aff???? ??? said age of 21 not marry that the said sum of sixty pounds shall also with the said one hundred & twenty pounds ?????  cout cousol Bayt Annuities bor??e the property of my said nephew RICHARD JOLIN MARCHINGTON also I give and bequest unto my said nephew RICARD FOLIN MARCHINGTON  the sum oftwenty five pounds sterling to be paid ??? by my said T&E after ???? ????? twelve months after my decease or sooner at the pleasure of my said T&E ???? after ???? also I give and bequeath to my said nephew Richard Jolin Marchington  my best groom coat and waistcoat two of my best pair of Breches two of my best shirts and my best ?att also I give and   bequeath the to Mr. Lovett of Warminstor aforesaid Stone Cutter the sum of Ten pounds sterling to be paid  ??? by my said T &E after ???? as soon as ??uioutly ??? be after my decease I give and bequeath to my ?oo?thy friends Thomas Wright & James Hill my said T&E  after ?a??>d out of the friendship I have for ???? ? the sum of ten pounds  ???? and all the cost and residule of my state and effects of what  nature or kind ???? I give ???e and bequeath to the sad Thomas wright and jamrs Hil my said T&E after ua??? For their own sloe and separate  use to be equally divided between them share and share alike and ?? ?o  ?????by ????ate and appoint them the said Thomas Wright & James Hill  T &E of this my last will and testoment hereby revoking and ???? void all former and other wills and ?????? by ?? at any  time a ???fore made ?? wit???s  whereof the said Ephiriam MarchINton have to the first sheet of this my will set my ???? and to this so??? And last sheet my ???? and seal thus  nineteeth day of December in the year of our lord 1786 and in the twenty seventh year of the reign of king George the said ‘Ephraim Marchinton’ (in a different hand writing probably Ephraims)  ????? sealed publis?es and ?????? by the above will and testament in the presence  of us who at his request and in his presence and in the presence of ???? o??? have subscribed our names as witness thereof…………..

 

THIS WILL was proved at London this fourth day of January in the year of our lord 1787 before  the Worshipful George  Haris Dortel Calvest also Dortor of Laws justice keeper of comm.???ry of the Perogative Court of Canterbury Lawfully ??ustiate? by the ???? of Thomas Wright and James Hill the T&E named in the said will to whom administration was granted of all due ??gular the goods chattels and ////ts of the deceased having been first sworn to administer.
