neat village, pleasantly situated on a bold elevation. The tithes have been
commuted for 47 pounds and 17 shillings, of which 47 pounds are paid to the

IBULL, another small hamlet adjoining Callow. In Doomsday it was called Ibholen
and was part of the King's land.
Ible is a cluster of houses/small holdings along a small back
water road, its some what time warp and its a very interesting place to visit,
it remained me of a small hamlet in Newmills called Whittle. There is no given
farm name on the census and when you see Ible you know why as there are only 4
-6 dwellings.

The Poll Tax was an alternative method of raising money
by
central government from medieval times. It was levied at various times
between about 1290 and 1872.
'An assessment for Bonsall by vertue of a late Act of Parliament entituled
an Act for the raiseing of money by a Poll & otherwise for Reduceing
of
Ireland as followeth'.
The original document has the amount assessed against each name,
it appears to be one old shilling per poll

Probable that this line died out. This line could have been in
isolation from the Chapel branch and may have come directly from the village of
Marchington, but having said that all the names are names given to
Marchington's. ?
